Thomas Röhlinger is the founder and editor-in-chief of Radijojo and the World Children’s Radio Network. He initiated the World Children’s Media Foundation. 
Under his guidance, the children’s radio network has received numerous distinctions from UNESCO, UNICEF, the UN Alliance of Civilizations, the EU, the German federal government and the president of Germany.
Currently, he’s working on a project in Morocco to encourage children to use media for peace and self-expression, while connecting them with peers and educative / peace networks in Europe and worldwide.
He is dedicated to the fight for the fulfillment of the UN Children’s Rights, especially the rights for education, participation, international exchange with peers, information and access to child-friendly media.
In 2005, he was nominated “Social Entrepeneur of the Year” by the Schwab Foundation/Boston Consulting Group.
He has held countless workshops with schools and youth centers in many countries. He trains unemployed youth and migrants in Berlin and lectures at universities. He is consultant for local and international NGOs, public institutions and civil society media.
He is a member of the World Association of Community Radios (AMARC) and Community Media Forum Europe (CMFE). Röhlinger was presenter and speaker at many internation events, e.g. World Summit on Children’s Media Johannesburg 2007, World Summit Media for a Culture of Peace and Children’s Rights Thailand 2009, AMARC World Conference Argentina 2010, World Summit on Media for Children and Youth Sweden 2010, Global Forum of Public Media Mexico 2011, Global Media Forum Germany 2012.
Thomas received his Master’s in sociology in 1998 and an MBA in media management in 2002. He also studied psychology and journalism.
